The Pixies have cancelled the remainder of their Australian tour due to fears over the spread of coronavirus.

The band asked fans not to throw away their tickets, as they will be honoured when the new concert dates are announced.

‘Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to returning to Australia,’ they concluded.

Touring company Live Nation is now working to reschedule the postponed dates for later in 2020.

The news comes days after Miley Cyrus cancelled her World Tour Bushfire Relief fundraiser, which was scheduled to take place at Melbourne’s Lakeside Stadium on March 13.

She tweeted on Tuesday afternoon that she’d been advised not to fly to Australia amid the global health crisis.
