The Goonies cast reunite for Josh Gad

Hey, you guys! The Goonies cast Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, Sean Astin and more REUNITE as they re-enact scenes from the 1985 classic …and discuss a possible sequel

The cast of The Goonies were virtually reunited on Monday, thanks to Frozen star Josh Gad.

Gad – who voiced the iconic snowman Olaf – recently launched his own YouTube channel, and the most recent episode brought together the actors from the classic ’80s adventure movie.

Present for the reunion were actors Sean Astin (Mikey), Corey Feldman (Mouth), Jeff Cohen (Chunk), Martha Plimpton (Stef), Jonathan Ke Quan (Data), Kerri Green (Andy), Josh Brolin (Brand), Robert Davi (Jake Fratelli), and Joe Pantoliano (Francis Fratelli).

They’re back! On Monday Josh Gad reunited the cast of The Goonies, including Sean Astin (Mikey), Corey Feldman (Mouth), Jeff Cohen (Chunk) and Martha Plimpton (Stef).

However, that wasn’t all. Also joining in on the fun was Cyndi Lauper – who sang the movie’s theme tune “The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough”, exec producer Steven Spielberg director Richard Donner and screenwriter Chris Columbus.

Gad, clearly a big fan of the 1985 movie, said: “There is one movie that defines my childhood. One movie that defines my personality. One movie that defines me.”

So it must have been a dream come true for Gad, then, when the cast even reenacted scenes from the movie, screenwriter Columbus joked that they performed better now than they did in the film.

The cast also shared their thoughts on making the movie and shared behind-the-scenes tales.

Among the highlights from the clip, Spielberg was asked about whether or not they would make a sequel with the original cast (Fox are currently working on a pilot for a TV reboot of the movie.)

“Chris, Dick and I — and Lauren [Shuler Donner] — have had a lot of conversations about it,” Spielberg admitted. “Every couple of years we come up with an idea but then it doesn’t hold water.”

In the meantime, Spielberg joked that fans would just have to watch this livestream a hundred times to get their fix.

As well as providing entertainment, the episode helped raised funds for the Center for Disaster Philanthropy to support their COVID-19 Response Fund.
