Kyly Clarke beams at new boyfriend James Courtney trackside at the Bathurst 1000

Former cricket WAG Kyly Clarke and Supercars driver James Courtney have made their debut as a couple at the Bathurst 1000 race in Bathurst, NSW.

Kyly, 39, a longtime fan of motorsports and former grid girl, beamed with pride as she supported her boyfriend trackside at the Mount Panorama circuit on Sunday.

The couple, who briefly dated two decades ago when they were teenagers, looked thoroughly loved-up and made no effort to hide their romance.

They’re not hiding anymore! Former cricket WAG Kyly Clarke and Supercars driver James Courtney have made their debut as a couple at the Bathurst 1000 race in Bathurst, NSW

James, 40, the driver of the #44 Boost Mobile Ford Mustang, couldn’t hide his happiness as he smiled at Kyly, who wrapped up warm in a fur-lined puffer jacket.

Rumours they were dating surfaced in the Sydney tabloids on Thursday, but neither commented on the reports at the time.

However, their latest sighting leaves little doubt the pair are, in fact, an item.

It’s the first new relationship for Kyly since her separation from retired Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke last year.

‘It is early days but they are very happy,’ a source told The Daily Telegraph last week of her romance with James.

According to the publication, Kyly and James first dated two decades ago, after meeting through friends and family.

They also apparently knew each other as children.

‘Kyly loves motorsports; it is something she has been passionate about since childhood,’ the insider said.

‘They just clicked when they reconnected and everything is going well. It is like a fairytale because they were together all those years ago so it has come full circle.’

The pair apparently got back in contact recently via social media, after the demise of Kyly’s marriage.

Michael and Kyly quietly parted ways in September 2019, after seven years of marriage, but did not announce their separation until five months later, in February.

Despite being in the midst of a divorce said to be worth $40million, the Clarkes remain on amicable terms as they co-parent their four-year-old daughter, Kelsey Lee.

Michael, 39, has also moved on from his failed marriage, and is now dating fashion designer and P.E Nation co-founder Pip Edwards.

The retired batsman started dating Pip, 40, with whom he had been friends for more than a decade, after separating from Kyly.

They denied their romance for months, insisting they were just friends, but eventually went public in July while on a family holiday in Noosa, Queensland.

Coincidentally, Michael and Pip made their public debut as a couple at a different kind of race over the weekend: the Everest horse race at Sydney’s Royal Randwick.

James went through a very public split from his ex-wife of 16 years, Carys, after the New Zealand leg of the 2017 V8 Supercars season.

He was apparently blindsided to discover Carys had moved on with millionaire publican and former Bachelorette star Stu Laundy.

‘It was certainly something I didn’t need to see,’ he said in June this year. ‘No one wants to see an ex with someone else, especially like that and in the news.’

James and Carys share custody of two children, Zara and Cadel.
