The government’s coronavirus social distancing guidance for England states that it is critical that everybody observes the following key behaviours.

FACE – Wear a face covering in indoor settings where social distancing may be difficult, and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet.
SPACE – Stay 2 metres apart from people you do not live with where possible, or 1 metre with extra precautions in place (such as wearing face coverings or increasing ventilation indoors).

During the latest national lockdown, Liverpool ran a successful campaign to control its outbreak after mass testing in the city and was placed in Tier 2.
Tier 3 means that millions of people are banned from households mixing indoors and outdoors, and pubs are only able to provide takeaway service or must close altogether.
The revised Tier 2 restrictions shut pubs unless they serve meals and people are ordered not to meet other households indoors.
