Pete Evans’ wife Nicola Robinson finally shows support for her disgraced husband

Pete Evans’ notoriously private wife has remained silent since his neo-Nazi meme scandal last month.

But on Friday, former glamour model Nicola Robinson finally expressed public support for her embattled spouse.

She shared a photo to Instagram of the disgraced chef sitting with their horse Olly, and said she was ‘in awe’ of Pete’s ‘unwavering courage’ and ‘ever-evolving heart’.

Speaking out: Pete Evans’ wife Nicola Robinson (pictured together) has finally expressed support for her disgraced husband – weeks after his neo-Nazi meme scandal

‘When I first moved to Australia to be with Pete, every weekend he would book a trail ride for us to share,’ she began her post.

‘For me, this was actually the perfect way to witness the man I had fallen in love with, as horses are so very capable of sharing valuable wisdom if we’re present enough to listen and learn from their reflections.’

She went on to say that every horse that Pete met on their trail rides ‘portrayed a deep level of kindness and trust towards him’.

‘I immediately knew that this was reciprocal energy being revealed and an authentic representation of Pete’s essence,’ she wrote.

‘Oh and I may have given myself the odd pat on the back here and there in celebration of choosing a mighty fine one!’

Nicola concluded by saying that she felt ‘honoured’ to ‘walk hand in hand’ beside Pete and she was in ‘awe’ of him.

‘I am endlessly in awe of your unwavering courage, patience, and virtue and your gentle yet fierce, open, ever-expanding, ever-evolving heart,’ she wrote.

Breaking her silence: This marks the first time Nicola has spoken about her husband since his latest scandal, which saw him dropped by 15 sponsors and pulled from the line-up of Channel 10's I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!

Her previous silence had raised questions about the state of the couple’s marriage.

As previously reported, the pair quietly unfollowed each other on Instagram in late March, but the ex-My Kitchen Rules judge was quick to deny speculation of a split.

When contacted for comment at the time, Pete insisted there was no truth whatsoever to rumours of a ‘trial separation’.

‘No, not at all,’ he said. ‘We just had a wonderful week together at the farm with the kids. She is having a break from Instagram at this time.’

While Pete maintained then that Nicola was just taking a ‘break’ from social media, she had in fact posted on Instagram just a day earlier.

Interestingly, at the time of the unfollowing, the pair hadn’t been pictured together on Instagram since November 2019.

During this period, they seemed to be living separate lives, with Nicola residing at their $1.2million farm in northern NSW while Pete stayed at their home in Malabar, Sydney, with his two daughters from a previous relationship.

Last month, Pete faced significant backlash for sharing a neo-Nazi meme on Facebook.

The post was a cartoon of a caterpillar wearing a MAGA cap and a butterfly with the neo-Nazi Black Sun emblem on its wing – with the suggestion being that neo-Nazism is the natural evolution for Donald Trump supporters.

Pete is an enthusiastic supporter of the president and advocates the baseless claim that Joe Biden only won the 2020 election due to voter fraud.

The Black Sun symbol became infamous after it was introduced by top-ranking Nazi Heinrich Himmler during World War II. The symbol has since been adopted by numerous neo-Nazi groups, and by Christchurch mosque shooter Brenton Tarrant.

Pete seemingly confirmed he was aware of the meaning of the symbol when a fan stated they recognised it, and Pete replied: ‘I was waiting for someone to see that.’

A month earlier, he’d encouraged another Facebook user to ‘have a look at the true history of Germany’.

Pete later deleted the post and replaced it with an image of a rainbow heart alongside a sarcastic non-apology in which he claimed he would be ‘studying all of the symbols that have ever existed’ to make sure he doesn’t offend anyone again.

‘Sincere apologies to anyone who misinterpreted a previous post of a caterpillar and a butterfly having a chat over a drink and perceived that I was promoting hatred,’ he wrote.

‘I look forward to studying all of the symbols that have ever existed and research them thoroughly before posting. Hopefully this symbol [the love heart] resonates deeply into the hearts of ALL!’

What was he thinking? Evans seemingly confirmed he was aware of the meaning of the symbol when a fan stated they recognised it, and Pete replied: 'I was waiting for someone to see that'
