Kit Harington takes a break from dad duties as he stocks up on snacks – after making a cameo in the Friends reunion

When starring in Game of Thrones he was well-known for wearing an all-black costume.

And Kit Harington stuck to form as he headed out to run errands on Tuesday wearing muted clothing.

The 34-year-old actor was spotted walking around in Manhattan as he spent some rare time away from his baby boy while running errands in the city.

With the sun beating down, Kit wore a black baseball cap to keep the glare out of his eyes.

He matched his cap with a black T-shirt and black denim jeans, coupled with a pair of smart black boots.

The star has been staying in America with wife Rose Leslie and their two-month-old son while Rose works on her upcoming HBO series The Time Traveler’s Wife.

While in the States, Kit filmed an appearance on the Friends: The Reunion special show.

He was one of a number of famous faces recalling some of their favourites scenes from the long-running American sitcom.

The Game of Thrones actor singled out one scene in particular as his favourite though: The infamous sofa ‘pivot’ incident.

Speaking on the show he said: ‘There’s a scene with David Schwimmer, where Ross is deciding not to pay for the delivery service of the sofa.

‘They start taking the couch up the stairs, and quite quickly everyone gets into trouble.

‘This is not something that’s going to go up the stairs. David Schwimmer tells them to start to pivot.’

The scene came in season five, in an episode titled The One with the Cop, which saw Rachel and Chandler helping Ross take a new sofa to his apartment.

Talking about the scene, Kit said: ‘The thing about that scene is it’s so simple.

‘If you were to see it on the page initially, it’s three actors carrying the couch up the stairwell. There’s maybe a page of dialogue, and nothing really in that dialogue suggests anything massively comic.

‘But what they do in that time in carrying that couch up those stairs is one of the funniest things I’ve seen on T

‘I think one of the reasons Friends is so funny is the fact that these six actors are masters of physical comedy.’
