It is reported that this will not be enough to satisfy the Bundesliga giants, who believe they can extract even more value for the youngster.

Bild note that Dortmund chiefs are aware that are in an ideal negotiating position, given that they know that United cannot afford any more transfer embarrassment after the weeks of uncertainty in failing to clinch the deal last summer.

Likewise, they expect Sancho to become one of the leading names at the European championships, therefore driving up interest in his services and his price tag as a result.

Recently crowned Champions League winners Chelsea are also said to be heavily interested in Sancho, however, who happened to grow up in south London supporting the club.

Thomas Tuchel is an admirer of the star and the German could be set to raid his former club and hijack any possible deal taking Sancho to Old Trafford.

Chelsea are in the market to spend big this summer, after targeting a return to the summit of English football following their European tilt against all odds.

It is reported however that financial agreements between Sancho’s party and United are already in place, meaning only the clubs themselves have to thrash out the small print.

At United Sancho would be in line for a lucrative deal earning in the region of around 15 million euros per-year (£13m) and become one of the highest earners in England as a result.

It would represent a huge step up from his current contract at the Signal Iduna Park, with Sancho annually pocketing around £7m with Dortmund.

It is well known that Sancho enjoys a strong friendship with fellow England international Marcus Rashford, and United are hoping this could become an influential factor in securing the deal.

The links with Sancho to United have been solid for some time, and as recently as March Old Trafford star Paul Pogba teased supporters with the prospect of the youngster signing by dropping a hint during commercial work with Pepsi.

Starring alongside Sancho in an advert for the soft drink giants, Pogba shared the footage to social media along with the speculation-triggering caption: ‘finally on the same team’ with the addition of a winking face.
