Queen Maxima of the Netherlands made a statement in a floral white and pink jumpsuit to attend the Special Olympics National Games.

The Dutch royal, 50, looked typically glamorous in the recycled one-piece as she visited the Sports Campus in The Hague on Friday. 

Known for her love of bright colour combinations, she wore a white jumpsuit with a flower print in hues of magenta, red and green.

The mother-of-three he first wore the stylish number in April 2020, and has brought it out for the warmer weather.  

She accessorised with a white statement belt and tucked a red envelope clutch bag under one arm. 

Making sure her accessories were matching her ruby theme, she added some large red earrings and a pair of wedge heels in a similar hue.

Her golden tresses hung in sleek lines and she kept her neutral-toned face mask handy by wearing it round her wrist so that she could easily access it if needed.

Maxima, who is the wife of King Willem-Alexander, 54, and mother to daughters Amalia, 17, Alexia, 15, and Ariane, 14, appeared to be in great spirits as she chatted with staff and athletes outside. 

The Argentinian-born royal was even pictured trying her hand at sports as she larked about with a hockey stick.

Letting her fun side out, she joined in a game of bowling and attempted to knock all the skittles down.  

She took a great interest in the sports being played, and intently watched a game of tennis as she stood smiling. 

Her royal visit came weeks after the country celebrated Queen Maxima’s 50th birthday on May 17.

Her subjects honoured her legacy in the weeks leading up to the celebration and a collection of stamps were released to mark the occasion. 

The biggest stamp, Koningin Maxima, features an unseen retro black and white close-up snap from the monarch’s private collection, showing Maxima in New York in 1999.

It shows a profile of the then 22-year-old with freckles on her cheeks, and strands of blond hair falling down to her shoulders.
