‘Literally the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten! Pure magic,’ one customer wrote, while another raved: ‘The flavours are awesome. Unique and strong spices coming through. I really really enjoyed the jaffle.’

The vegan modern Indian eatery offers just four menu items – including pakora fritters, made from chickpea flour, herbs, spices and seasonal vegetables.

‘Growing up in India the idea of one place doing lots of things doesn’t make sense to me. You find the person who does one thing well,’ co-owner Gunjan Aylawadi told the Good Food in May 2019.

The restaurant has received near perfect reviews online for serving authentic Indian street food-style menu items.

‘Hidden among the towering city buildings in a gully off the busy George Street is this amazing street style food stand. Be prepared to taste street style Indian flavours with an unique Australian influence,’ one diner wrote.

Another said: ‘I cook and eat a lot of Indian food. I’ve been here twice and it’s easily up there with some of the best Indian food I’ve had. Top notch!’

And one customer added: ‘Truly a hidden gem. If you like spicy vegetarian comfort food, this is your place. Be it fritters, jaffles or khichdi (yes that’s right but a jazzed up version), everything is drool worthy.’

Many suggested avoiding peak lunchtime as there’s often a long queue.

‘Amazing. Get here early to beat the rush but it’s definitely worth the queue,’ one customer said.
