A source told The Sun newspaper: ‘The BBC is going all out for their Party at the Palace to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.’

‘The concert will see a range of the world’s best musicians and entertainers put on a two-and-a-half-hour show, which will be broadcast live on BBC One,’ the source said.

‘Given the events of the past year and everything that has happened in the pandemic, the organisers want the Party at the Palace to be the biggest celebration of not only Her Majesty but of everything that is great about the UK.’

They have reportedly started to contact big name artists like Sir Elton John, Ed Sheeran and Stevie Wonder to discuss their availability for the 95-year-old monarch’s milestone show.

Elton may not be able to perform in person, due to a scheduling clash with his world tour ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’, but organisers hope he can still be involved in some capacity.

The insider added: ‘Whether it is something pre-recorded like he did for Party at the Palace in 2002 for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, or if he’ll be able to appear via a live stream, they want him on board.’

In 2012, the Queen celebrated her Diamond Jubilee, which had a similar concert organised by Gary Barlow.

The event saw over 16 million viewers.

Performers at the three-hour event included Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Tom Jones, Gary’s Take That bandmate Robbie Williams, as well as Kylie Minogue, Madness, and Annie Lennox.

Hosts of the event included comics Sir Lenny Henry, Rob Brydon and Jimmy Carr.

The insider confirmed that The BBC are  making sure…people can expect the best of the best when it comes to the line-up this year.
