Did you spot the editing fail on The Bachelor? Gogglebox star Symon Lovett asks viewers if they noticed the HUGE mistake on Thursday’s episode

Eagle-eyed viewers may have caught an editing fail on The Bachelor last night.

Former Gogglebox star Symon Lovett noticed the gaffe when he compared a scene from Thursday’s episode to a promo that aired on Wednesday night.

He noted how the same snippet of dialogue was used in the promo and the episode, but in completely different contexts.

Did you notice it? Eagle-eyed viewers may have caught an editing fail on The Bachelor last night. Former Gogglebox star Symon Lovett noticed the gaffe when he compared a scene from Thursday’s episode to a promo that aired on Wednesday night

Wednesday’s teaser featured a close-up shot of contestant Sierah Swepstone as Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson handed out roses at the Rose Ceremony.

‘But I’m not worried,’ she said in a voiceover. ‘I’ve had a better chance with a wooden spoon to be honest.’

Symon then interrupted to demonstrate how the same line was used in a different context during Thursday’s episode.

There was a scene in which the bachelorettes were chatting to each other – not at a Rose Ceremony – and the show cut to Sierah offering her thoughts.

‘But I’ve had better chats with a wooden spoon if I’m honest,’ she said in a piece-to-camera interview – which was the exact same line from Wednesday’s promo, but with the word ‘chats’ instead of ‘chance’.

Turning the camera to himself, Symon shook his head in disappointment and concluded: ‘That’s the same words. Different context.’

The reality TV post-production technique of ‘stitching together’ a new sentence using other bits of dialogue is known as ‘Frankenbiting’.

The method is quite easy to spot as the words spoken can sound jittery, but editors often try to cover their tracks by only using ‘Frankenbite’ sentences in voiceovers.

The Bachelor continues Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10
