Tokyo Olympics: British trampolining star Bryony Page settles for a bronze medal

British trampolining star Bryony Page settles for bronze after Chinese duo seal top two podium places as the Team GB athlete wins back to back medals at the Games

  • Byrony Page sealed a bronze medal in the women’s trampolining event
  • She had soared up to top spot before Zhu Xueying leapfrogged her
  • Liu Lingling then bumped her down to third and secured a silver medal
  • It is Page’s second successive medal after a shock silver at Rio 2016 games

Bryony Page won her second Olympic medal on the bounce with a bronze in the women’s trampoline.

The 30-year-old secured a shock silver at Rio 2016 and she followed that success up here at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre.

Page qualified for the final ranked third and she guaranteed herself a gong when she went up third last and scored 55.735 with her routine.

She had a nervous wait to see what shade of medal she would receive with China’s Xueying Zhu and Lingling Liu last to perform.

And while Zhu went on to take the gold medal and Liu the silver, that could not wipe the grin off Page’s face.
