Team GB knocked OUT by India in men’s hockey quarter-finals after 3-1 defeat
Team GB were sent packing from the men’s Olympic hockey after being beaten 3-1 in the quarter-finals by India.
Adam Dixon’s team fell behind to an early goal by Dilpreet Singh at Oi Hockey Stadium, before Gurjant Singh doubled India’s lead early in the second quarter.
Sam Ward pulled a goal back during the final quarter, but it was a frustrating end to the tournament for Britain after they qualified third in their group, as Hardik Singh completed the scoring in India’s 3-1 triumph.

India are the most successful team in the history of Olympic hockey with eight gold medals since the 1920s and will be looking to become champions for the first time since 1980.
They will meet world champions Belgium, who beat Spain 3-1, in Tuesday’s semi-final.
