He failed to find love with ‘wife’ Cathy Evans on this year’s Married At First Sight.
And on Thursday, Josh Pihlak revealed he is planning to ‘auction off’ his wedding ring – all in the name of a good cause.
The 28-year-old explained in an Insta Story live chat with radio personality Bryce Ruthven that we wanted to use his ‘platform’ to raise awareness for Motor neurone disease, following the death of a family member.

‘I lost my cousin last year (to Motor neurone disease). He was only 33, he was diagnosed when he was 30,’ he revealed.
‘Two young kids, a beautiful wife, a family and now he’s gone’.
Josh further explained that until his family were personally affected, he didn’t really have an understanding of the ‘dreadful’ disease.

‘Having this platform now… I don’t want to see anyone else going through what our family did,’ he added.
Motor neurone disease is a degenerative condition which affects the nerves that control muscles that allow a person to move, speak, breathe and swallow.
Josh has listed the wedding ring he exchanged with Cathy at his ‘wedding ceremony’ from the hit Channel Nine TV show, along with a framed photo of him and his former wife on Ebay.

It comes after Cathy told Yahoo last week she was in a much better place since filming wrapped on Married At First Sight, last year.
‘I’ve found someone so much better now,’ she said.
‘I really tried so hard in the relationship and, if anything, it was a blessing that it didn’t work out,’ she said of her failed romance with truck driver Josh.
Cathy added that she didn’t want to name her new boyfriend because ‘he’s a private person’ who ‘isn’t famous’.
