Michelle Bridges takes her son Axel, 4, to visit her ANZAC hero grandfather’s memorial – after the World War II veteran came to the toddler in a dream

Michelle Bridges had an emotional Sunday as she took her son, Axel, 4, to visit her ANZAC hero grandfather’s memorial. 

The pair went to the Newcastle Memorial Walk, where various tributes to fallen soldiers and those who served stand. 

In a series of Instagram posts, Michelle, 49, explained that her late granddad, who served in World War II, came to little Axel in a dream. 

So sweet: Michelle Bridges had an emotional Sunday as she took her son, Axel, 4, to visit her ANZAC hero grandfather’s memorial in Newcastle. Both pictured 

Alongside a photo of herself and her son at Nobby’s Beach, the personal trainer wrote: ‘Axe wanted to visit Grampsy’s beach, where he is.’

She explained that her son had told her of his great grandfather: ‘I met him in my dream mumma, he asked me to visit’. 

Michelle added: ‘Perfect afternoon with my fam’ and called it her ‘old stomping ground’.

In April, Michelle paid tribute to her ‘gramps’ in a long Instagram post. 

She wrote:  ‘One of my most proudest days. Privileged to wear my Grampsy’s medals on ANZAC day a few years back.’

Michelle explained her grandfather, ‘was known as the ‘Black Mamba’ among his mates. Something to do with his dark hair, dark skin and good looks!

‘You are in my heart Gramps. I miss you. Lest we forget,’ she concluded.
