McFly are forced to postpone their UK tour for a SECOND time due to the coronavirus pandemic 

They recently announced they are releasing their first studio album in a decade.

But McFly shared the sad news on Thursday that they have had to postpone their UK tour for a second time because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The band were originally due to travel around the country in April and May this year but they pushed it back to October and November.

But with the virus still circulating, the pop quartet have had to delay the gigs again until May 2021.

They said on Twitter: ‘In light of the ongoing situation with COVID-19 globally, the McFly UK tour can no longer take place in October/November 2020. 

‘The shows have been rescheduled to the dates below, and all original tickets remain valid. 

‘We cannot wait to get back out on tour and go mental.’

It comes after the band – consisting of Harry Judd, Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter – confessed that they battled with feelings of jealousy as they drifted apart and worked on solo projects during their hiatus.

In an interview with The Sun, the musicians, whose two-year stint in the supergroup McBusted with fellow band Busted came to an end in 2016, admitted they were ‘broken’ during their time apart from one another.

Harry said: ‘We have all been through a lot individually in the past four years. It got to a point where once all the talking was done, we had one therapy session and things were said.

‘We’d seen each other broken, desperate and sorry enough to each other to be like, “Right, OK, we can move on now.” It’s not just like a married couple. There’s four of us, so there’s a relationship between each and every single person. It’s a complicated thing.’

During their time apart, each member pursued other projects, which included Harry’s Strictly Come Dancing win, Danny becoming a coach on The Voice Kids, Dougie launching an acting career, and Tom becoming a bestselling author.

However, Harry admitted that it was still a struggle to adjust to life without McFly, after the ‘amazing experience’ of being in the band.

He told the publication: ‘I was turning 30 and the band was taken away from me. You suddenly don’t know what to do and have this identity crisis.’

Last month, the members of McFly thrilled fans when they confirmed they will be releasing new music for the first time in a decade.  

The band confirmed the news after signing a new record deal, and have released their album’s first single Happiness.

Tom told BBC that their reunion was almost derailed due to tensions within the group, and even considered group therapy to try and resolve their differences.

He said: ‘There was a strong possibility McFly would never happen again. We genuinely didn’t know how to get back on track..

Harry added: ‘We tried to talk it out a couple of times over those years and it just was very unproductive. So, yeah, there were moments where we talked about, ”Do we need to get in a room with a therapist and document this?”

After going on hiatus the band all went onto have success in different areas, with Tom becoming a successful children’s author, Dougie winning I’m A Celebrity in 2011, Danny wrote and produced records, and Harry won Strictly Come Dancing. 

They also formed the supergroup McBusted in 2013, and released an album before embarking on a nationwide tour.

Eventually, it was McFly’s manager who finally pushed them to reunite by booking them to perform a concert at the O2 Arena.

The group also confirmed they’d nearly finished recording their album when the new record deal was signed, and their album, Young Dumb Thrills, is set to be released in November.

McFly first confirmed they would be reuniting in September, and immediately announced a nationwide tour which sold out in minutes.
