Pixie Lott’s contestant Justine Afante has won the show’s first ever virtual final.

The 13-year-old was competing for the top spot against Danny Jones’s ten-year-old singer George ­Elliott, Will.i.am’s Victoria Alsina, seven, and Paloma Faith’s Dara McNicholl, 12. 

The virtual final was filmed last week with the ‘studio’ audience instead watching from home via a livestream, which was shown on screens during the show, amid the Covid-19 crisis.

After being crowned the winner by the virtual audience, Justine was left speechless as she burst into tears and exclaimed: ‘I can’t breathe!’

She added: ‘I am in so much shock. They were all so good and I didn’t think I was going to be the winner.’

Also during the first virtual final, the four coaches – Pixie, Danny, Will.i.am and Paloma performed to the virtual audience a rendition of Fatboy Slim’s Praise You.

The 13-year-old singer follows in the footsteps of the Pixie’s previous two winners, Jess Folley and Daniel Davies in 2017 and 2018.

She will also claim a £30,000 bursary for her music education and will win a VIP holiday to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

The presenter, 44, styled her signature blonde locks into a sophisticated sweptback hairdo and she added a slick of glamorous make-up.

Meanwhile, proud mentor Pixie looked effortlessly chic in a sparkly gold fringed dress with pink heels and pearl earrings.

The virtual final comes after many shows have been hit by delays due to coronavirus restrictions.

Britain’s Got Talent had to postpone its pre-recorded semi-final until Saturday 5 September.  

The Voice Kids airs on ITV.
