Queen Maxima of the Netherlands commanded attention in a colourful coat today as she visited Limburg for a tour of the region.

The mother-of-three, 50, arrived at the Brightlands Campus Greenport to hear about the international open innovation community’s research into healthy and safe food, as well as future and organic farming.

Showcasing her fashion prowess, the Argentinian-born royal wasn’t afraid to add plenty of splashes of colour to her ensemble by sporting a vibrant jacket over an emerald dress.

She teamed her eye-catching outfit with a matching green hat and high heels, while also carrying a stylish clutch.

The wife of King Willem-Alexander, 54, who is mother to daughters Amalia, 17, Alexia, 15, and Ariane, 14, showcased her love of accessories on the outing by adding some statement diamond earrings to her look. 

Looking as glamorous as ever, Maxima draped her coat over her shoulders as she tried to shield herself from the rain.

Maxima’s golden tresses were mostly covered by her hat, but were styled in a sleek up-do and she drew attention to her features with a touch of make-up.

Holding a pair of emerald gloves in hand, the queen completed her outfit with a protective cream face mask.

She visited the campus alongside her husband King Willem-Alexander, with the royal couple set to speak about innovations in the field of agriculture and health. 

The couple later paid a visit to De Maasduinen National Park and strolled through its stunning countryside. 

Earlier this week, Maxima stepped out in a tweed tailored suit as she arrived for a visit to the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.

She teamed her look with a black waisted belt, stilettos and a leather bag with a wood handle.

Matching her protective black face mask to her outfit, Maxima sported a pair of hoop earrings and a large flower ring as well as gold bracelets. 

Maxima looked like she meant business, strolling into the building clutching a blue notebook and pen while smiling under her mask.

It was the latest in a string of royal engagements for the queen in the Netherlands’ second largest city, a major logistic and economic centre which is home to Europe’s largest seaport.
