Pochettino has been named as the favourite to replace Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.

Zidane left the Bernabeu for the second time after seeing his side knocked out of the Champions League by Chelsea and finishing second behind Atletico Madrid in LaLiga.

Initially, Real wanted former Juventus boss Maximiliano Allegri to take the hotseat but the Italian club have moved quickly and he is set to replace Andrea Pirlo after an abject season in Turin.

However, now they have turned their attention to Pochettino – who replaced Thomas Tuchel at the start of the year.

Having guided the club to victory in the Coupe de France and Trophee des Champions, Tottenham have shown an interest in the 49-year-old.

Tottenham are reportedly set to open talks over a dramatic return for Mauricio Pochettino as early as next week, with the former boss also set to ask star striker Harry Kane to stay for one more year if he does go back to the club.
