‘You definitely are honored to be cast in something alongside those people,’ she said. ‘Maybe there’s a brief moment of sort of nerves, especially meeting anybody who is the lead of your show that you’re coming on as a recurring guest, you know?

‘And obviously Kate Winslet’s a little different. She’s like a massive star. There’s a moment of that and then once you sort of settle in and see how the other person works, you kind of realize that you have to come and deliver and work really hard.’

Sosie got a bit of help from mom and dad when she first broke into acting, scoring her first role at age 13 in 2005’s Loverboy — a film starring both her parents. Appropriately enough, she played the ten-year-old version of her mom’s character.

She also appeared in four episodes of her mom’s hit show, The Closer, in 2009.

Still, Sosie admitted to PopSugar in 2013 that she doesn’t really watch her parents’ work.

‘Honestly, I don’t watch their movies and stuff that often, ’cause when I was really little, they were kind of inappropriate, so I kind of just, like, stayed in that pattern,’ she said. But I just watched Mystic River recently, and I thought my dad was incredible in that.’

After taking a break to attend Brown University, she appeared on TV as Miss Golden Globe 2014.

She then appeared in a couple of TV movies before earning a role on Scream: The TV Series from 2015 to 2016.

That was followed by several small roles before she was cast in 10 episodes of Here and Now in 2018 and the first season of 13 Reasons Why, in which she played Skye Miller.

Her last role before Mare was Narcos: Mexico in 2020.
