Queen Maxima of The Netherlands went for business-chic in a colourful two-piece suit as she paid a visit to the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam today.

The Argentinian-born royal, 50, was dressed in a tailored orange tweed ensemble, which she teamed with brown leather sandals and a brown handbag.

Maxima, who is a firm supporter of the arts, has served as the orchestra’s patron since 2005 regularly attends concerts in and outside the Netherlands and sits in on rehearsals.

She showed off her impeccable fashion sense as she stepped out out of the car arriving at the Dutch symphony orchestra’s new premises at the Gabriël Metsustraat.

For the occasion, the monarch donned a wide-legged trouser suit that was cropped to mid-calf length and a blazer, that was cinched in at the waist with a brown waisted belt. 

She paired the outfit with large brown, circular earrings, showcasing her love of bold accessories and completed the look with her favourite gold bracelet and black wristwatch.

The wife of King Willem-Alexander, 54, who is mother to daughters Amalia, 17, Alexia, 15, and Ariane, 14, was treated to a piece by a string quartet in a rehearsal room of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.  

Her visit came weeks after the country celebrated Queen Maxima’s 50th birthday.

Maxima turned 50 on May 17, and her subjects honoured her legacy in the weeks leading up to the celebration.
