Roma ‘in talks to sign Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio’ as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Serie A season

  • Wolves reportedly want between £10m and £13m for the Portuguese goalkeeper
  • Rui Patricio joined Wolves in 2018 and has made 157 appearances for the club
  • The 33-year-old only has one year remaining on his contract at Molineux 

Roma are reportedly in talks with Wolves to sign their Portugal international goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

The midlands club are believed to be looking for a fee of between £10m and £13m for the former Sporting Lisbon stopper.

According to Sky Sports new Roma boss Jose Mourinho is targeting Patricio as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Serie A season.

The 33-year-old has just one year left on his contract at Molineux and has the same agent as Mourinho; Jorge Mendes.  

Patricio joined Wolves in 2018 from Sporting for £16.2m, one of many deals Mendes has brokered with the club.  

The Portuguese keeper has made 157 appearances in all competitions for Wolves, keeping 37 clean sheets in the process under former boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

Santo left the club at the end of last season and has since been replaced by Bruno Lage. 

Mourinho, meanwhile is looking to rebuild his reputation at Roma after he was sacked by Tottenham in April.
