Jadon Sancho has opened up on barely sleeping a wink the night after helping England to the Euro 2020 semi-finals.

The soon-to-be Manchester United star made his first start of the tournament against Ukraine at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Saturday and helped Gareth Southgate‘s side to an emphatic 4-0 win against Ukraine to book a last-four date with Denmark.

And Sancho, 21, revealed the excitement in the England camp after the result against Andriy Shevchenko’s men.

He said: ‘I didn’t really sleep last night, it was a great feeling yesterday and the lads are still buzzing, so I was glad to be a part of it.

‘Everyone’s over the moon, we know how much it means to the fans and our families, so buzzing. The scenes were unbelievable, loads of English fans around the stadium and the support was definitely there – crazy.’

Sancho has agreed to join the Red Devils from Borussia Dortmund subject to contractual terms and a medical, with the deal expected to be completed after the competition finishes.

The former Manchester City winger also discussed the potential of Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, 18, who came on in the 65th minute against Ukraine, replacing Kalvin Phillips – and stated what advice he would give his younger self.

He added: ‘The sky’s the limit for Jude. He’s a great player and he’s very mature – at that age I was a bit childish.

‘Him getting selected (for England) was a massive thing, especially so young, and I know how he plays so we’ve got a good relationship on and off the pitch.

‘My advice to my younger self would be work hard and always, always train, especially on what you’re not good at!’

Next up the Three Lions take on Kasper Hjulmand’s Denmark on Wednesday July 7, kicking off at 8pm BST, with the chance to reach their first ever European Championship final, which would be played at home at Wembley if they progress.
