Carlo Ancelotti has called Everton winger Richarlison to discuss a potential move to Real Madrid, according to reports.

The Italian manager coached Richarlison at Goodison Park for 18 months before leaving Merseyside to make a shock return to former club Real earlier this summer.

The Brazilian winger scored 13 goals for the Toffees last season in his only full season playing under Ancelotti, though Everton only managed a 10th-placed finish.

And according to Goal, Ancelotti is keen to reunite with Richarlison this summer but talks are only in their early stages, with the winger currently on international duty with Brazil ahead of their Copa America final with Argentina on Sunday.

The report also says the conversation could develop into an official offer to Everton in the coming weeks, with the call between the pair only happening recently.

Richarlison has played a crucial role in Brazil’s route to the final, starting all but one of their matches in the tournament this summer, scoring one and assisting another in the 4-0 group stage win over Peru.

The 24-year-old then started as a central striker in their semi-final victory over the Peruvians on Monday, which earned them a spot in the final.

Richarlison has also been called up to Brazil’s squad for the Olympic Games and if he plays in the summer event then he is likely to miss the start of the new season, whoever he ends up playing for come August.

The Brazilian has scored 42 times for Everton since he joined the club in a £50million deal from Watford in 2018.

Ancelotti was also linked with a £50m move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is currently away on international duty with England at Euro 2020.

The Italian is set to embark on his first season back in the Real dugout since leaving in 2015, having led Los Blancos to the Copa del Rey and Champions League titles the year before his departure.
