Euro 2020: England fans rage as Harry Kane penalty claim is turned down vs Denmark

Should THIS have been an England penalty? Fans fume after Harry Kane was not awarded a penalty with score locked at 1-1 in Euro 2020 semi-final with Denmark… but some say he dived!

England fans have been left highly divided by the decision not to award Harry Kane a vital penalty as the Three Lions search for a place in the European Championship  final.

Gareth Southgate‘s side are bidding for a spot in their first major tournament final since the World Cup all the way back in 1966.

They came into the match as the overwhelming favourites, yet to concede a goal in the tournament and with ‘home’ advantage, playing in front of a 60,000 crowd at Wembley Stadium.

England were made to respond after falling behind courtesy of a phenomenal free-kick from 21-year-old Denmark star Mikkel Damsgaard, with Simon Kjaer diverting Bukayo Saka‘s cross into his own net just nine minutes later.

However, with 16 minutes of normal time remaining, Kane went down in the box under the challenge of Christian Norgaard, with the England players convinced they should receive a penalty.

The referee went the other way and gave Denmark a free-kick, however, with the England fans subsequently left divided, with some believing it was a certain foul, and others thinking Kane was being opportunistic.

One fan said: ‘So Kane gets the ball and gets taken down… and doesn’t get a penalty? Okay…’

Another added: ‘How was that not a penalty on Kane?’

There were others, on the other hand, that didn't think the challenge on Kane was a penalty
