Karolina Pliskova has beaten Aryna Sabalenka to progress through to the Wimbledon final.

Pliskova came back from one set down to beat her 23-year-old opponent 5-7 6-4 6-4 on Thursday. 

Pliskova will now face World No.1 Ashleigh Barty in the 2021 final on Saturday. 

Speaking after the game, Pliskova said:: ‘I am in the final so think it is incredible. It was an amazing match from both of us, I got a bit frustrated but she was serving unbelievably – she was in a semi-final so had to play some great tennis. I am supper happy I managed to find a way to win

‘It is tough to enjoy because she is playing so fast you don’t have time to think about what you want to do, winners were quick, errors too, but it was super important to stay in the games and stay focused.

‘It is difficult when you are not doing well to stay positive, but my teams is super positive, thanks to them I managed to stay calm and I trust in my game – I have had success in the past so it is not like I forgot how to play tennis.’
