Harry Kane’s form at Euro 2020 means the England captain can tell his critics to ‘f**k off’ according to former Tottenham and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov. 

Kane scored his fourth goal of the competition on Wednesday as England beat Denmark 2-1 to secure their place in Sunday’s final against Italy.  

Berbatov has been impressed by the 27-year old’s performances during the tournament; and insists that he has proved those doubting his inclusion in Gareth Southgate‘s side wrong.

‘Kane has been excellent in the knockout stages. He received some criticism in the group stages but Kane can tell his critics to f**k off.’ Berbatov told Betfair.

‘Even great players have their ups and downs. Even when he wasn’t scoring he was doing a lot for the team. Now the goals are coming.

‘The pressure on him with the penalty against Denmark was immense. You cannot imagine what it feels like to take a penalty with a nation’s hopes on your shoulders. 

‘As a player you know that everyone is depending on you, even if you don’t want to think about it. It wasn’t a good penalty but he got a bit of luck.

Kane’s position in the team came under scrutiny after he failed to score during the group stages, however he notched an impressive four goals during the knockout phase as England secured their place in a major final for the first time since 1966.

The Three Lions will play Italy at Wembley on Sunday in the Euro 2020 final.
