Achraf Hakimi’s agent insists wing-back would like to return to Real Madrid in the future

‘We keep the dream that he will return to Real Madrid’: Achraf Hakimi’s agent insists wing-back would like to return to LaLiga giants in the future, just days after former Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund star’s £60m move to PSG was confirmed

  • Achraf Hakimi made just 17 appearances in three seasons for Real Madrid
  • He spent two of those on loan at Borussia Dortmund before joining Inter Milan
  • After a season at San Siro, the Moroccan has moved to PSG in a £60m deal
  • But his agent insists a return to the Bernabeu at some stage is on his wishlist

Achraf Hakimi’s agent has revealed the wing-back wants to return to Real Madrid before the end of his career.

The 22-year-old officially joined Paris Saint-Germain from Serie A champions Inter Milan earlier this week in a deal which will reportedly rise to £60million.

The Morocco international made just 17 appearances in three years for Real Madrid’s first team across all competitions prior to his permanent move to Inter last summer, largely due to the fact he spent back-to-back seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund

But Hakimi’s representative Alejandro Camano has insisted he would like to go back to the Bernabeu at some stage given his links to Spain’s capital city.

‘Real Madrid had the right of first refusal until PSG and Inter said that the deal was going to take place,’ Camano told Onda Cero via Marca

‘We keep the hope and the dream that Achraf returns to Real Madrid because he was born in Madrid, grew up in Madrid and as a final aim, one day, he would like to play for Real Madrid.’

Chelsea had also been widely reported to be lining up a move for Hakimi before he signed his five-year contract at the Parc des Princes.

Sportsmail revealed last month Inter showed interest in a £52m cash deal which would also include the Blues’ 30-year old left-back Marcos Alonso, and Camano confirmed an offer was made by the Stamford Bridge outfit.

But he opted instead to link up with Mauricio Pochettino at PSG, with Goal reporting a package totalling up to £60m (€70m), with an initial upfront payment of £52m, was agreed between them and Inter.

Hakimi’s one season in Italian football saw him help Inter surge to the title under the guidance of Antonio Conte, while breaking Juventus’ nine-year stronghold on the division at the same time.

After signing his deal in Paris, Hakimi told PSG’s official website: ‘After Spain, Germany and Italy, Paris Saint-Germain offers me the chance to discover a new championship with one of the most prestigious clubs in the world.

‘I can’t wait to meet my new team-mates, the fans and experience the incredible colour and passion inside the Parc des Princes.

‘I share the same big ambitions as the coaching staff and my teammates and will do everything I can to deliver what is expected of me.’

Hakimi has been joined by former Madrid team-mate Sergio Ramos at PSG, while Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is expected to become their latest arrival once Sunday’s Euro 2020 final against England is out of the way.

A Morocco international since 2016, Hakimi has won 36 caps for his country and has scored four goals while laying on another six assists for the Atlas Lions, who featured at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
