Married At First Sight star Michael Goonan ‘called his PARENTS’ to try and get out of the experiment because he ‘wanted to party’ and was bored

Controversial Married At First Sight star Michael Goonan reportedly tried to escape the experiment last year when things became too stressful.

The 28-year-old company director placed a call to his wealthy parents – who own a large ice distribution company in Adelaide – and begged them to help him out, according to New Idea magazine.

But it’s believed couldn’t do anything because Michael had already signed a contract with Channel Nine and Endemol Shine Australia.

Over it! MAFS groom Michael Goonan, 28, ‘called his parents’ to try and get out of the experiment because he ‘wanted to party’ according to a report in New Idea magazine

‘He wanted to leave, and the producers wouldn’t let him,’ a source claimed.

‘He was sick of being stuck in a hotel room with Stacey [Hampton, his ‘wife’]. He just wanted to go out and party, so he called his parents.’

Michael is known to be close to his parents. His mother, Julie, even visited him during the experiment.

Last month, Michael praised Julie while also admitting to his shortcomings as a son.

‘I’ve never been the easiest boy to raise but you have always been my rock,’ he wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of himself and his mother.

‘I love you, mum. I really do.’

It comes after Michael and Stacey had a successful commitment ceremony on Sunday, having recovered from his cheating scandal.

They appeared closer than ever and even professed their love for each other.

As they sat down with the relationship experts, Stacey said: ‘I’ve forgiven him. So far his actions have proven that he’s dedicated to regaining my trust.

‘We’re here to move on from the negative light… I love him.’

Their romance appeared to be over just one week ago, when Michael allegedly shared a drunken with co-star Hayley Vernon, which he denied.
