Meanwhile, Azeem Rafiq’s legal action against Yorkshire will be rescheduled after the two parties failed to reach a settlement during two days of a private hearing at Leeds Employment Tribunal.

Rafiq, 30, filed a case under the Equality Act six months ago, alleging direct discrimination and harassment on the grounds of race.

‘The club is sorry to say that resolution did not prove possible,’ read a statement from Yorkshire.

Rafiq’s representatives declined to comment.

The club has said it takes allegations of racism extremely seriously and has opened an independent investigation on the issue.
